Every year the summer is jam packed with music festivals, and when picking where to go there’s so much to consider.. “How much will i have to spend? How far will i have to travel? Do i have to put up a tent?” And of course “Who’s performing?!”
We’ve listed out the best looking festivals to hit this summer highlighting the pros and cons for you!

The Parklife Weekender

Parklife-Weekender-2014 When: 7th – 8th June 2014
 Where: Heaton Park, Manchester

Pros: The line up is IMPRESSIVE. From Snoop Dogg to   Rudimental. You’ll definitely be  dancing all weekend!
Cons: Local accommodation has gone pretty fast, so      expect to pay more than you  expected for a hotel.

Wireless Festival

WRL_180214_2

When: 4th, 5th & 6th
Where: Finsbury Park & Birmingham Perry Park

Pros: Finsbury Park is a nice new location which is easy to get  to. Since the park is smaller then the  Olympic site that was    used last year – there won’t be any 10 minute walks to the next  stage!
 Cons: None so far!

Bestival

Bestival Latest Banner 600 When: 4th – 7th September
Where: Robin Hill Country Park, Isle of Wight

Pros: OUTKAST! With it being their 20th anniversary  as duo, their performance is set to me     amazinggg!
Cons: The location can be quite awkward  to get back from. Leave the festival as early as  possible to avoid being stuck on the Isle of Wight for 3 hours!

Glastonbury

Glastonbury haven’t actually released a line up yet, but you can get an idea of what to expect from last years. The 2014 line up will be released closer to the festival date.

PosterPostFinal11-959 When: 25th – 29th June
 Where: Worthy Farm, Pilton
Pros: It’s Glastonbury. Need we say more?

February is nearly over which means summer isn’t far behind, so here at BassBuds we’re keeping an eye out for the latest fashion to upgrade our wardrobes with!
So we thought we would share our favorite pieces with our fellow BassBuder’s to make you equally excited for the seasons to come!

1. Longline Coat from Asos – £75

One thing we love about the Spring season is the colors! Skirt, jeans, shorts – this coat is one of those items that you can wear with anything, a must have!

2. High-Waisted Bikini from Topshop –  £25

We LOVE this colour, it’s not too bright, not too dull, it’s just right! Especially with a tan, this bikini would look amazing!

image4xxl3. Sweat Pants from Hype – £32

We’re a fan of Hype Clothing at BassBuds so it’s only normal to include them in our must haves! These trousers are great  since you can dress them up with a pair of heels or go casual with a snazzy pair of trainers. Either way, they’ll look awesome.

4. Crop Cable Jumper from Warehouse – £45

Pink is in this season! And the brighter the better!

5. Colored Red Ankle Boots from Zara – £39.99

Chelsea boots never seem to get old, with pretty much every shop selling them, there’s loads to choose from. But these babies are just too lovely, the dash of red just makes them!

Fashion | February 24, 2014

Once again, this wasn’t a easy task. Going through hundreds of pictures from Milan Fashion Week only to pick 10?! Fun? Of course! Easy? Definitely not, but no challenge is impossible for the BassBuds team so here we are… The Top 10 Looks from Milan Fashion Week:

1. Dolce & Gabbana AW Collection

Love love loveeeee this collection. If Disney collaborated with Game of Thrones for a clothing collection, this is what it would look like. LOVE!

2. CO-TE AW Collection

Going strong on the primary colors this season, CO-TE have gone with plain but bold for their autumn winter collection. Plain shouldn’t be confused with boring as this is everything but!

3. Phillip Plein AW Collection

Notorious party girl Rita Ora made a second appearance on the catwalk last week, first with Moschino, now she struts her stuff but this time showing off her vocals. Undoubtedly though, the star of the show was Naomi Campbell who graced the catwalk once more looking like a chic cowboy!

Musical Mondays – Top 5 Videos of the week!

Music | February 24, 2014

With 2014 set to be an exciting year for music, picking 5 amazing videos every week is set to be quite a challenge!
Fortunately, here at BassBuds we love a good challenge, especially if it involves listening to new sounds through a fashionable pair of BassBuds!

So here we have it, our Top 5 Videos of the week in no particular order (because it was just too hard!). Enjoy :)

1. Disclosure w/ Lorde & AlunaGeorge – Royals/White Noise

This performance at the Brits was amazing! It came shortly after 17 year old songstress Lorde won the award for ‘Best International Female‘. Much deserved to her, she’s definitely worked hard last year and is set to make 2014 hers for the taking.
We’re also a fan of the lovely AlunaGeorge and White Noise which took over the club scene last summer. Plus we’re loving her stage outfit!

2. Paloma Faith – Can’t Rely On You (Live from the kitchen)

Hackney’s Finest! Paloma and her band recorded this live from her very own kitchen! If this what goes on in Paloma’s house we would have no problem being her neighbor and believe it or not, there’s even a cameo from one of the band members (we kid you not…) playing on a saucepan with a wooden spoon!
Taken from her latest album, ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ which will be released on March 10th. We’re loving this song though, and something that will make you love it even more, the original version is produced by the one and only Pharrell Williams! What’s not to love? We even love the tartan!

3. Jess Glynn – Home

After featuring on the smash hit ‘Rather Be’ by Clean Bandits which was the fastest selling single of 2014 so far, as well as being the fastest selling single in January since 1996, Jess Glynn is set to dance through 2014 with ease.
Home is produced by grime producer Bless Beats (we were surprised too) and directed by creative muse Jo’lene Henry. Definitely one to add to the summer playlist!

 4. Schoolboy Q – Break The Bank

We do love a bit of scruffy SchoolBoy, released from his new album which will be officially released tomorrow, February 25th, Oxymoron. Q has never been shy about showing his affection for his daughter who can be seen carrying a gold ‘Q’ ballon whilst twirling down the street – very cute. We’re looking forward to hearing the album!

5. Sam Smith – Not In That Way

Sam Smith delivers this pitch perfect live version of his ‘Not In That Way’ single at Abbey Road Studios. He’s got a lot to celebrate after just winning the Critics Choice Award 2014 at The Brits. Along with the 4 above, Sam is breeze through 2014 especially since he just landed his first solo Number 1 for his single ‘Money On My Mind’. Go Sam!

First things first, the front row. Kate Moss, Charlotte Moss, Kendall Jenner, Poppy Delevingne, Tallulah Harlech and the fantastic Maisie Williams were just a few names in attendance. And of course not to be missed, the man himself  Sir Philip Green.
The result was a tourist attraction like no other, equipped with booming electro-beats, Anna Wintour and supermodels galore

When it came to the clothes, Topshop kept the entertainment coming, the clothing was heavy on colour and high on energy.

Playing with texture, Topshop unveiled faux-fur tabard tops, delicate lace dresses and an oversized metallic puffa-coat which looks set to delight when it arrives in store next winter.

While still completing her studies, LULU’s talent for designing was unquestionable and with that her work was exhibited at British Royal Ballet as well as the infamous V&A museum. This fashion creative has managed to grasp minimalism and combine it with an subtle youthful quality. Today on the day we celebrate Saint Valentine, the BassBuds team took a trip to The Freemasons Hall in London to watch this distinctive individual launch her 5th season at London Fashion Week.

LULU_Blog3
LULU filled the catwalk with bold colours and patterns while still managing to keep a sense of subtly and tranquility.
She stuck to clean cutting methods, along with the use of superior fabrics such as pure wool and lambskin leather. Combining striking hues of metallic orange and yellows, vibrant reds and soft white which seemed have hit all the right chords with LULU LIU followers.
