Warren- Craig David- Rendezvous

What a 2K flashback! Taking us back to the days of old school Garage, where Mc Luck & DJ Neat would create the soundtracks to our lives and we can’t forget the infamous Bo’Selecta! Taken from his ‘Born To Do It’ album, the single featured a remix by UK record producer Blacksmith, which became a club hit. You can catch up with the UK legend himself, banging out the most vibrant sets on Sundays from 9-10pm on Capital Xtra!
Benjy- Biffy Clyro – Folding Stars

Fans of Biffy Clyro, got a lucky treat on Friday as their performance at the Glasgow O2 Academy was aired in 120 countries across the MTV network, which has us thinking about some of the classics they have produced. Folding Stars came of the band’s Puzzle album which hit no.2 in the UK album charts in it’s first week of release and sold over 300 000 copies worldwide! The band even was voted the best album of 2007 by Kerrang! and Rock Sound.

Mat – Puscifer – Conditions of my Parole

Mat’s choice is a very interesting one this week . Puscifer is not only a hardcore rock project but also a clothing brand in which clothing was produced in limited numbers. Now here’s the detailed bit, the main member is Maynard James Keenan as Puscifer was originally his side- project, however he was worked alongside Adam Jones on the album artwork and T-Shirt designs. Conditions of my Parole was recorded in Arizona in 2011 and debuted at no.27 in the Billboard charts with 12, 111 sold in its first week! One thing we must say is that Maynard is definitely a jack of all trades, you have to love it!

Corene- Sophia Grace – Best Friends

It’s amazing to watch a little girls dream come true! Little Sophia Grace has now released her first song ‘Best Friends’ after having caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres and Nikki Minaj. Ellen fell in love with their rendition of a Nicki Minaj track and flew them down to the show where she performed for Nikki Minaj who coined the 11 year old ‘ a star’. They have now a household name in the US and have gone on to create a movie in Australia, not bad for an 11 year old, we must say. Go Sophia!

Tia – Erykah Badu – Cleva

With Meghan Trainor hitting the charts with her song “All about the Bass” which talks about body image and beauty. Miss Erykah Badu highlights similiar issues. This song comes from her album ‘Mama Gun’ released in 2001. The full album incorporates funk, soul, and jazz styles. The perfect easy listening track for the Monday blues!

Corene – Jhene Aiko – Wading

We still can’t get enough of Jhene here at the Bassbuds PR! Her angelic voice continues to enchant our systems. We can’t wait to hear what new music she is planning to grace us with. Having her roots in music firmly planted through her work with B2K in the early 2000’s, we have been lucky to see Jhene’s growth in music from a girl to the seductive & influencial woman she is now, featuring on tracks with the likes of Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J Cole, Childish Gambino & Schoolboy Q to mention a few. Her latest album is ‘Souled Out’ and is currently available to download on iTunes.

Warren – Donnell Jones – I’m Gonna Be

I’m Gonna be was released 9 years ago, on Donnell’s Journey Of A Gemini album, produced by The Funktwons. This tune had moderate success and Donnell has carried on building since. In 2009 he released The Lost files, which was a collection of his unreleased songs, then in 2010 he released his Lyrics album under E1Music. His latest album, Forever was released in 2013 and he is set to tour the US this year. A good flashback to the 90’s.

Benji – Massive Attack – Paradise Circus

Benji has chosen the english musical group, Massive Attack who formed in Bristol in 1988. The group has won many awards over their years including a Brit award, 2 MTV EMA’s and 2 Q awards. They have released 5 studio albums, selling over 11 million copies worldwide. For those that are not familiar with Massive Attack, you will recognise their song ‘Paradise Circus’ from the opening credits of the BBC series, Luther, that stars everyone’s favourite actor Idris Elba. This definitely can be deemed as a modern day classic.

Tia – Omarion – Post To Be ft Chris Brown & Jhene Aiko

This song was recently released in November last year and is gaining more popularity as the months go by. This single features both the guy and girl of the moment, Jhene Aiko and Chris Brown who both let out a bit of their naughty side on this record. This track can be found on Omarion’s latest album Sex Playlist, released under the powerful Maybach Music Group. A popular club track for the Summer.

Mat – Lab’s Cloud – Raining Over The Sun

Lab’s Cloud is a Downtempo project run by the producer Psycho Abstract otherwise known as Raul Jordan. This is the perfect music to vibe to on a day like this. The Offspring are an American Punk rock band from California in 1984. They are still creating music and are set to premier their latest single on the 30th of this month.

Warren – Jay Z – Anything

When he first released this song Jay Z expected it to have a similar following as his previous song Hard knock life which followed a similar tune , however the response he felt he received did not live up to his expectations. This being said the song still did reach number 18 in the UK charts and following this Jay Z made a couple more number 1’s!

Mat – The Cure – Lullaby

This song was released in 1993 from the English rock band, The Cure. The Cure have experienced several line up changes and have become synonymous with Punk Rock culture.
