Another great installment of this week’s favourites…..

Benjy – Slaves – Cheer up London

Slaves, one of the most hotly tipped young bands in the UK, are about to unleash their brand new anthem ‘Cheer up London. The duo are touring Europe over the next few months including; Ibiza Rocks next week.

Warren – Lil Mix – Black Magic (Acoustic)

The not-so little mixers have come along way from their previous X-Factor auditions; Simon, certainly knew what he was doing when originally forming the group together 5 years ago. For a TV manufactured group, these ladies really have a set of pipes and have perfect harmonies. . Black Magic went straight to No1 in the UK singles chart before the official release. The video received over 1 millon views in less than 18 hours and 1,46 million in 24 hours. The video peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Twitter Top Tracks on 27 June 2015.

Corene – Moelogo – Do You Love Me

The perfect Summer tune, hands down! Representing UK AfroBeats which is currently being playing on popular radio stations, thanks to artists such as; Fuse ODG & Mista Silva. Produced by prolific hit maker Maleek Berry, ‘Do You Love Me’ is an infectious jam tailor made for the summertime. Laced with a melodious bassline, lush drum patterns and Maleek Berry’s trademark keyboard arrangements, this record sees Moelogo beautifully showcasing his buttery smooth and captivating vocals, with the lyrical dexterity to match, as he lays it all down for his leading lady. We can’t wait to hear more from him over the next year or so.

Corene – Eminem – Guts Over Fear ft. Sia

It’s been 15 years since Eminem first appeared on stage, but instead of re-issuing The Slim Shady LP to celebrate, he will instead focus on the anniversary of his record label’s achievements with compilation album Shady XV. However, as lead single ‘Guts Over Fear’ suggests, the career landmark has dropped Marshall Mathers into a reflective headspace, causing him to ponder his future as a rap artist trying to maintain those former glories. Featuring Australian singer Sia the track was released on November 24, 2014.

Tia – Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass

Meghan Trainor’s (born December 22, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. Her debut hit “All About That Bass” is more than a pop song with an infectious beat. Its message of self-acceptance is also helping it soar. “I’m here to tell you that every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top!,” Trainor sings in “Bass,” which mixes its moral with a satisfyingly complex tropical and retro-R&B/Motown blend.

Eve – Destiny’s Child – Say My Name (Cyril Hahn Remix)

It doesn’t matter if you love or hate Destiny’s Child. What Vancouver native Cyril Hahn did to the track, is nothing short of magic. BassBuds, Music | November 24, 2014

Happy Monday Everybody!

Ready for a new wave of great music from BassBuds HQ?

This week Warren’s choice is – Olly Murs – Wrapped Up ft. Travie McCoy

The cheeky chappy Olly Murs has teamed up with rapper Travie McCoy on the track Wrapped Up, released on November 16. Taken from forthcoming album Never Been Better, Olly may not be breaking new ground here, but he knows what he does well and is sticking to his guns. Sounding like 80s era Michael Jackson with a funky twist, this catchy, happy tune will get you nodding along within seconds.

Corene – Beyoncé – 7/11

On Friday 21st of November, the Queen has just released the video for her new track “7/11” and it is a glorious, underwear-filled hotel party. Probably her most personal video yet, the song achieved over 12 million views in just two days on YouTube. “7/11” and another tracked called – “Ring Off” surfaced online beginning of last week after 30-second snippets of the tracks were leaked, both songs are on Beyonce’s box set, “Beyonce Platinum,” due out next week.

Eve – Alesso – Heroes (Grandtheft Remix)

Stockholm rising stars Alesso and Tove Lo have joined forces in the former’s transcendent dance-pop anthem “Heroes.” After hearing remixes of from Branchez and Jai Wolf, today we have Grandtheft’s rendition. He is a Producer/Songwriter/DJ/VJ based out of Montreal, Canada. Keeping the vocals in tact, Grandtheft transforms this song into a beautiful melodic trap track with tumbling synths and a drum breakdown you won’t forget; this will have you nodding your head, no doubt. Stream the track below and keep en eye out as it drops on Def Jam soon.

Benjy – Christina Perri – A Thousand Years

Benjy as a huge fun of Twilight decided to remind us today about this great song by Christina Perri. ‘A Thousand Years’ is a track taken from the album The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The song serves as the second single from the album. It was released on October 18, 2011 worldwide.

Mat – Selena Gomez – The Heart Wants What It Wants

Selena Gomez marked her return to music on Nov. 6 with the release of “The Heart Wants What it Wants.” She gets personal on the heartbreaking ballad about her tumultuous relationship with Justin Bieber. The song is the lead single from Gomez’s upcoming greatest hits album For You. She originally recorded the track and its video a year ago but felt that it wasn’t the time to release it then. The electro-pop behind last year’s Stars Dance album is shed for something a bit more Lana Del Rey-esque on “The Heart Wants What it Wants.”

Tia – Artful Dodger – Please Don’t Turn Me On

During the late ’90s and early 2000s, the Artful Dodger represented the rising status of garage within the U.K. and its slow invasion across the world. “Please Don’t Turn Me On” is a song released in 2000. The single peaked at #4 on the UK Singles Chart, and spent 10 weeks on the chart. The song features singer Lifford and was featured on the band’s first album, It’s All About the Stragglers.

Musical Monday

Music | November 17, 2014

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

As every Monday we are ready to inspire your playlists!

This week Corene’s favourite is

Taylor Swift – Blank Space

Taylor Swift in the Blank Space video is the woman we’ve been waiting for. It is a track recorded for her fifth studio album, 1989. Described as an electropop song with influences of minimal pop. Many critics compared it to the works of fellow singer-songwriter Lorde. It makes fun of Swift’s recent exposure in the media about her dating life, portraying “an overly attached man-eater who dates for songwriting material” as herself.

Eve –

Sam Smith – I’m Not The Only One (Grant Nelson Remix)

UK DJ Grant Nelson takes a swing at Sam Smith‘s “I’m Not The Only One” because…everyone enjoys Sam Smith remixes. I mean, how many are we up to at this point? Grant Nelson did something different with the track and kept it fresh on our minds and close to our hearts, right where it needs to be.

Benjy –

Frank Turner – Wanderlust

Frank Turner is an English folk/punk singer-songwriter from Meonstoke, Hampshire. Initially the vocalist of post-hardcore band Million Dead, Turner embarked upon a primarily acoustic-based solo career following the band’s split in 2005. Both in the studio and during live performances, Turner is accompanied by his backing band, The Sleeping Souls. Wanderlust comes from the duluxe version of England Keep My Bones album, released in 2011.

Warren –

Kirko Bangz – Rich ft. August Alsina

Words like “materialism” and “greed” generally carry a negative connotation, but is it so wrong to dream of a better life? Rising rap star Kirko Bangz, for example, doesn’t ask for much—just a house on the top of a hill, a yacht, some diamond chains, a few stacks of hundreds to make it rain at his local strip club, and so on. On new single released in June 2014 Rich, Jevon Hill,Stanley Green and Rock City‘s luxurious, keyboard-led boardwork sets the mood as Kirko shares his fantasies of high-rollerdom.

Mat –

Tool – Parabola

“Parabola” is a song by the American rock band Tool, the song was released as the second single from their third studio album Lateralus. It was released in 2002 as a promo only, however, on December 20, 2005, the single was re-released, which includes the song and a DVD containing the music video and an optional “dual” audio commentary on the video by Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys fame.

Happy Monday Morning !

It’s time for our weekly routine :)

Here’s a list of top 6 tracks we currently listen to in BassBuds HQ

Eve –

Baauer – One Touch (feat. AlunaGeorge And Rae Sremmurd)

Before Baauer hit it big with song-meme “Harlem Shake” sometime back in the Paleozoic era, he was garnering respect as a talented producer on the rise. And now that his moment of profitable ignominy has passed, he can get back to being a buzzworthy young stud producer, only with a bigger budget. “One Touch,” from a new EP called ß, is the best thing he’s ever done. That’s thanks in part to explicit guest appearances from sleek R&B-pop futurists AlunaGeorge and the ballistic young Southern rap duo Rae Sremmurd.

Mat –

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Scar Tissue

Scar Tissue” is the first single from the American alternative rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers’ seventh studio album Californication, released in 1999. It is one of their most successful songs. “Scar Tissue” is considered to be representative of the new, more melodic rock sound the band experimented with on Californication (in contrast to the psychedelic One Hot Minute, and dry funk of Blood Sugar Sex Magik).

Benjy –

Kodaline – Pray

Kodaline are a Dublin-based Irish rock band. Originally known as 21 Demands. iI 2011 the band changed its name to Kodaline. The quartet released their debut extended play—The Kodaline EP—on Friday 7 September 2012, where track “Pray” is coming from. On 9 December 2012, the BBC announced that Kodaline had been nominated for the Sound of 2013 poll.

Corene –

Cheryl – I Don’t Care

“I don’t care” is second track from Cheryl’s upcoming solo album, ‘Only Human’ due for release later this year. The tune is feisty, fun and full of life and the X Factor judge says it sums up how she is feeling about life at the moment. “I’m a woman now; I’m at that age that things don’t bother me like they used to,” Cheryl said. “I still care about things, but I’ve discovered what’s important to care about, and what’s most definitely not.”

Warren –

One Direction – Steal My Girl

While I was surprised by this choice, it turns up the song is actually really really good. “Steal My Girl,” is the first single from One Direction’s upcoming studio album Four. This track is probably their most deliriously fun single since “Kiss You,” a chunk of rock music so chewy that it can dominate your whole afternoon if you’re not careful!

Tia –

Amy Winehouse – Stronger Than Me

The debut single from Amy’s debut album, Frank is genuinely politically incorrect and recklessly provocative. Released in the United Kingdom as the album’s lead single on 6 October 2003, it ended up as the lowest-charting single from Frank and of Winehouse’s career, peaking at number 71 on the UK Singles Chart. The song nevertheless won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song Musically & Lyrically in 2004.

Since it’s already November and Christmas season is coming up real quick, consider BB products as gifts for your loved ones!
